2010 Winter Olympic Games


HighStreet is pleased to provide information about accommodations and accept reservations for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.



Reservation Deposit


HighStreet requires a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total value of the reservation at the time of booking in order to confirm a reservation. The remaining balance of the first full month and/or any pro-rated part month is due 60 days in advance of the arrival date. The reservation deposit will be applied to the Guest account.

A valid Purchase Order Number is acceptable for approved corporate accounts only.

Taxes


Please note that stays of less than 30 nights are subject to 5% GST and 10% provincial hotel tax.

Security Deposit


HighStreet requires a credit card security deposit in the amount of CAD$500.00. The security deposit shall be held for the duration of the stay and may be refunded following the Guest’s departure from the accommodation

Notwithstanding the security deposit, the Guest is personally and expressly responsible for making restitution in full for any damages under the terms of paragraph 20 of the License Agreement for Olympic Bookings.

Damages


The Guest shall use the accommodations prudently and carefully, and shall be personally and expressly responsible for the full costs of repairing any damage caused or permitted to be caused to the premises and/or all furnishings, fixtures, equipment, housewares, and other aspects of the accommodation, regardless of whether the damage was caused by the Guest, or by children, pets, or visitors of the Guest.

The Guest shall be responsible for the accommodation throughout the term of the License Agreement and after departure, including but not limited to replacement of missing or broken items, damage to paint, wall coverings, carpets, furnishings, and equipment. Reasonable wear and tear associated with normal quiet enjoyment of the accommodations is excluded.

Cancellation and Early Termination/Departure


Once a reservation is confirmed, the Guest/Licensee is responsible for the licensing fees charged to their account for the entire duration of the License Agreement except when the following exceptions may apply:


  • License fees are refundable or waivable should the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver be cancelled less than 16 days prior to the arrival date specified in the Guest’s License Agreement;
  • In the event of a breach of the License Agreement by the Guest/Licensee, HighStreet reserves the right to terminate the License Agreement;
  • Taxes (at the rates of  5% GST and 10% provincial hotel tax) must be applied retroactively to any circumstances that result in use of the accommodations for less than 30 nights.

Re-rent policy:
If a cancellation is made within 15 days of arrival, HighStreet may attempt to re-rent the accommodations. Any room nights that HighStreet re-rents will be refunded to you, less a 25% administration fee.

Occupancy


Maximum occupancy in all accommodations is 2 persons per bedroom.

Extra person charges of CAD$20.00 per person shall apply to any and all additional persons and/or to persons using sleeper sofas, cots, sleeping foamies, and other types of extra sleeping arrangements.

Guests requiring extra sleeping arrangements, including linen and bedding, must place the request at least 1 business day (24 hours) in advance.

For the term of the License Agreement, the Guest shall have quiet enjoyment of the accommodation and shall abide all Strata Corporation and/or building rules, regulations, and by-laws.

Pets


Pets are welcome in designated suites with advance notice to HighStreet, with HighStreet’s express approval, and with a mandatory non-refundable CAD $300.00 service fee. We can accommodate pets in many of our suites, and we require notice of your canine companions and feline friends at the time of your reservation.

Please note, however, that many buildings and suites strictly forbid animals, and our Guests and Clients are responsible for any and all fines and/or other penalties incurred by breach of those rules. Failure to notify HighStreet of any pets constitutes a breach of the License Agreement.

Smoking


Each and every property in HighStreet’s inventory is strictly non-smoking. Any evidence of smoking automatically incurs additional cleaning services, including carpet and upholstery cleaning, which will be charged to the Guest or Client account; the minimum charge for smoking-related cleaning services is CAD $500.00.

Extensions


Extensions are subject to availability. Guests shall have a right of first refusal for extensions beyond the term of occupancy described in the License Agreement, but  late response on the part of the Guest may result in a loss of opportunity.

Substitutions


In the best interests of our Guests and Clients, HighStreet may substitute accommodations if necessary. In the event of substitution, HighStreet will try to provide accommodations of equal or better quality. HighStreet may instead offer different accommodation at a lower nightly rate, in which case, if the Client or Guest accepts the lower nightly rate, HighStreet’s liability is limited to a change of rate between the accommodation booked and taken.

One parking spot is included with the accommodation. Additional parking is subject to availability and current rates.
